DISCOVER Study Visits and Mobility: A Great Success in Digital Transformation for VET

The DISCOVER project recently achieved a significant milestone with the successful completion of both online and physical research visits, which marked a turning point in Work Package 5. These excursions, which took place in 2025, brought together VET partners from Tunisia and Cyprus to exchange best practices, explore digital tools, and improve cross-border collaboration in the digital transformation of education.

The first phase of this work package, the online study visit, started on October 16th and 17th, 2025 and lasted two days. Participants from Tunisia ,Cyprusand Greece described their best practices and provided updates on respective work packages. Through hands-on digital tool exercises and collaborative breakout room conversations, the partners were able to address VET center concerns, resulting in the formation of a common mind map. The virtual visit centered on EdTech trends, digital learning platforms, and AI tools, with gamified components such as Kahoot! quizzes to further engage participants.

The second phase took held in Athens from January 15th to 17th, 2025, where partners gathered for an physical study visit to EUROTRAINING facilities. Participants attended physical study visit on AI and digital technologies for three days, then applied their newly gained knowledge in group activities. They had the opportunity to present their work and put various tools to use. Furthermore, hands-on experience with products like as Genially, Lumen5, Google Classroom, Grasp, Extension, and Gamma illustrated the practical use of these digital tools in VET settings.

The physical visit included a guided tour of VET classrooms, which provided useful insights into the training environment and available resources. A fun, participatory session measuring satisfaction with the Makey Makey electrical kit—by tapping on bananas—added a humorous touch. Discussions about teacher preparation and digital infrastructure highlighted the relevance of these components in the digital transformation process.

In conclusion, the DISCOVER study visits were a resounding success, combining virtual learning with in-person engagement to give participants with critical tools and methods for advancing digital innovation in VET institutions.
